On June 30, 2024, Nughthoh Arfawi Kurdhi, M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered an insightful sharing talk as a featured speaker at an event organized by OpsID, a community of young Indonesians on operations research (OR) and operations management (OM).
The event saw enthusiastic participation from attendees hailing from prestigious universities worldwide, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), Université Laval (Canada), and UNSW (Australia).

Dr. Kurdhi’s talk, themed “Behavioral Studies on Pricing Refurbished Products: The Price-Perceived Quality Relationship,” explored how to conduct behavioral studies to examine the relationship between price and perceived quality for refurbished products in various market types. The discussion addressed the impact of brand and competitive intensity on this relationship and considered methodological approaches such as price categorization and discrete choice experiments (DCE) to analyze consumer behavior.
