UNS Mathematics Student Presents Research at ICOMER 2024
Surakarta, September 25, 2024 – Hamda Yauma Istiqlala, a student from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), participated and presented her research findings at the 4th International Conference on Mathematics and Learning Research (ICOMER) on 25 September 2024. The international conference, themed “Fostering Mathematical Thinking for Sustainable Development Goals: Empowering Minds, Transforming Futures,” gathered academics and researchers from around the world.
Hamda presented her research titled “Forecasting Import-Export Volume and Value Using Support Vector Machines and Random Forests.” Her study utilizes advanced machine learning techniques to predict trends in international trade, offering valuable insights for enhancing trade forecasting models that can aid economic planning and policy development.
The ICOMER conference is known for its focus on promoting the role of mathematics in solving global challenges, particularly in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hamda’s research contributes to this mission by showcasing how data science and machine learning can address critical economic issues.
